The DTU Electro (Technical University of Denmark) invites applications for a Ph.D. position in novel AI-based processing and high-quality images and video coding. The selected candidate shall apply deep learning to attain pristine color quality across the photo and video data for the high-end digital imaging of tomorrow. The applications are open for a fully funded 3-year Ph.D. position. The position is part of the AI ColorFashion (AICF) project funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark. In addition, the project will be conducted in collaboration with Aalborg University and Capture One.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- The Ph.D. fellow shall be responsible for developing innovative video compression techniques with high color quality employing AI techniques
- The Ph.D. fellow shall engage in novel research on applying AI in the entire image and video capture and processing chain for high-quality imaging software.
- The Ph.D. fellow will join in integrating novel frontier solutions for imaging software in collaboration with leading university and industry groups.
Qualifications:
- The candidate must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a related degree with an academic level corresponding to a two-year master's degree.
- The candidate having experience with image and video coding, AI and deep learning, and Quality assessment shall have an advantage.
Duration: The period of employment is three years. The position is a full-time position. The starting date will be from June 1 to September 1 (or by mutual agreement).
