University of Konstanz ZUKOnnect Fellowships, Germany

The University of Konstanz offers ZUKOnnect Fellowships for Scholars from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The Zukunftskolleg Konnect Fellowships support early career researchers.

Funding: stipend of € 1,200/month for doctoral students and € 2,000/month for postdoctoral researchers

Requirements:

Candidates must have been born AND work in a country in Latin America, Asia, or Africa.
Candidates must hold a doctorate (max. two years, doctoral degree granted) OR are doctoral students in their final year. The doctorate was/ is going to be completed at a university in Latin America, Asia, or Africa.
Candidates must not hold a permanent professorship, nor do they have a habilitation or equivalent qualification (Venia legendi).
The research project should tie in with one of the disciplines represented at the University of Konstanz.
The candidate should name a researcher at the University of Konstanz with whom they intend to collaborate (no need to contact person(s) in advance).
Preference will be given to applicants who plan to team up with one of the current Zukunftskolleg Fellows.

The application process:

Submit application documents in English as PDF files via our online application portal. Applications should include the following:
A letter of motivation (including objectives for the research stay at the Zukunftskolleg and an explanation of how the research ties in with the research landscape at the university) max. two pages)
Brief description or summary of the current research project (max three pages incl. bibliography)
A detailed work and time plan for an on-campus research stay
CV
Relevant certificates (doctoral certificate OR a letter from doctoral supervisor confirming the status of doctoral thesis)
One academic letter of reference on an official letterhead paper and signed by the respective reviewer
