Harvard Academy Scholars program for the Pre-doctoral and Postdoctoral Scholarships at the Harvard University. The Program recognizes and sponsors brilliant candidates at the start of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in social sciences (including history and law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of non-Western countries or regions.

Fellowship Duration: Two years

Benefits (Scholarship value):

Postdoc Academy Scholars: annual stipend of $67,000
Pre-doc Academy Scholars: yearly stipend of $31,000
The salary is accompanied by funding for conferences, research travel, research assistants, health insurance coverage
Some teaching is permitted but not compulsory.

Qualifications / Eligibility:

Applicants must have recently completed a Doctorate or equivalent program in the social sciences.
Pre-doctoral applicants must have finished all field research and be in the writing stage of their dissertation at the time of application.
If the applicant has completed a Ph.D. program, the Ph.D. completion date must be within 03 years of the application deadline.
Application Procedure:

The following documents are required:

Updated CV with a list of publications (include three copies)
Statement of proposed research (max 2,500 words; include three copies)
Graduate transcript (official document)
Letters of recommendation- three (three)
A cover letter concisely describes the applicant's academic field, country or region of specialization, and proposed or actual research topic (include three copies).

Deadline: Applications for the 2024 postdoctoral fellowship will open on June 1, 2023.

The deadline is September 22, 2023.
