The Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) seeks to contribute to a society's sustainable and inclusive development. These scholarships are open to mid-career professionals/researchers in specific countries.
Scholarship Duration
The OKP scholarship program is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is available for a selection of:
1. Short courses: Two weeks to 12 months
2. Master's programs: 12 to 24 months
Eligible Countries
Benin, Bangladesh, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Congo (DRC), Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Jordan, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, Niger, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Suriname, Tunisia, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Vietnam, and Zambia.
Focus countries: Additional funding will be allocated for the focus countries this year are Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Territories, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Sudan, Somalia, and South Sudan.
Focus/Priority themes
The main priority areas of the OKP are;
1. Sexual and reproductive health and rights
2. Security and the rule of law
3. Food and nutrition security
4. Water management
Qualifications/Requirements
A scholarship will be available to female and male professionals who possess the following:
1. Motivated
2. Belongs to OKP country;
3. Proficient in English or French;
4. Working in one of the priority study areas for their country;
Language Skills:
1. Language skills: English or French to follow classes in the Netherlands.
2. Certificates showing language skills.
Other requirements
The nominated educational institutions will inform the candidates of the requirements needed for the application. However, as this scholarship is for working professionals, students' applications will not be considered.
The eligible candidate must be motivated:
1. that the candidate works within the priority themes for your country;
2. to use your newly gained knowledge and experience in your organization and society.
Application Procedure
Please follow the mentioned steps below to apply through the Dutch education institution of your choice (see the link below).
1. The candidate a course on the OKP course list.
2. Seek your employer to nominate you for OKP scholarships.
3. Contact the Dutch education institution of your choice to receive more information about the application procedure, the academic requirements
4. Apply online using the given links.
5. Prepare your complete application: employer statement, motivation, passport, and government statement (if necessary).
Deadlines
You can only apply for scholarships during an open application round.
For short courses
Duration: Courses should start from 20 February 2023 onward and must be completed before 31 August 2023
Deadline: 31 August – 11 October 16.00 CET.
Note: There is no information available on application rounds for Master's scholarships.

Please note that institutions may have a shorter application deadline. Please consult your academic institution for the exact deadlines.
Screening/Selection procedure
The selection procedure is as follows:
1. Registration with their Dutch education institution.
2. Dutch institution nominates candidates and submits the application
3. Embassies check eligibility and assess corresponding applications
4. Selection results will be available for Dutch education institutions
Result Declaration: Results of applications are announced 3 to 4 months after application submissions.
