IIT Bombay is offering Institute Postdoctoral (post-doc) research fellowships. These scholarships are available in various academic Departments, Centers, Schools, and Interdisciplinary programs. This fellowship program is open throughout the year. (No deadline for the applications).

Details Fellowship benefits:

  1. Fresh Ph.D. Rs. 65,000/- p.m.
  2. Ph.D. + one year of experience Rs. 68,000/-p.m.
  3. PhD+ two years of experience Rs. 71,000/-p.m.
  4. Non-lapsable contingency grant 15,000/year

Qualifications/Eligibility:

  1. Candidates keen to be appointed (fresh PhDs or research scholars) who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting examination.
  2. IIT Bombay’s indigenous Ph.D. students are not eligible to apply.
  3. Screening / Evaluation:
  4. Respective departments will evaluate the applications periodically through a process like what they would adopt for faculty selections.
  5. A yearly progress report and a seminar will be conducted (evaluated by a departmental committee) 

Essential Duties and Facilities:

  • A Postdoctoral Researcher will have a guide whose area is close to the candidates.
  • DEPENDING ON THE NEED, the HOD may assign reasonable academic/administrative tasks/responsibilities.
  • Agreement to provide appropriate office and lab space to the incoming postdoctoral candidates.
  • Financial support is provided for one international conference during the fellowship tenure for the presentation of their research work.
  • Support for one national conference per year.
