The World Bank and International Finance Corporation have united their corresponding Young Professionals Programs into one World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (WBG YPP). This new program accepts applications on behalf of three institutions (the World Bank, IFC, and MIGA). Young Professionals are enrolled from around the world, with a preference for nationals of WBG member countries and countries of operations.

Requirements:

  1. The applicant must have been born on or after October 1, 1990, and have a master's or Doctorate. 
  2. Specialize in a field relevant to Young Professionals Program Business Areas.
  3. Demonstrate relevant professional experience (three- or four years experience) or continued study at the doctoral level.
  4. The applicant must possess fluency in English.

The application:
The applications are accepted via the online portal only and include the following documents:

  • Resume/CV
  • Academic Credentials
  • Short Essay: following questions are to be answered in 750 words or 4,500 characters or less:
  1. Why is the applicant interested in the WBG YPP and the preferred institution (IBRD, IFC, or MIGA)
  2. Why the contender is the right person for the role; and
  3. Given the global context, how can the World Bank Group help our country's clients support and reach a green, resilient, and inclusive development? Please include rebuilding on progress lost on the WBG's twin goals related to your work area over the past few years.
  • Short Summary of Thesis or Dissertation 
  • Three Recommendations (Professional or Academic)

Applications are open for consideration from June 15 – July 15 and August 15 – September 30 (Tentatively).
