The DST (Department of Science and Technology), in collaboration with the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), launched a Fellowship in the year 2017 named “Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National (TIN) Fellowship.” The fellowship aims to identify, inspire, support, and promote translational research in engineering by Indian citizens. The fellowship scheme is named after the late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (a former president of India), who had been a role model in Indian technology development and self-reliance. The scheme is governed by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and implemented by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).
Scope: This fellowship covers all engineering, innovation, and technology areas.
Number of Fellowships: Maximum 10 Fellowships to be awarded every year.
Eligibility :
Duration: initially for three years, maybe extendable for up to two more years (according to the performance). The fellowship may be held for a maximum of 5 years.
