A 10-week research program for Life Science is offered by the Vienna Biocenter Summer School for undergraduate students. The summer school provides an opportunity for almost 25-30 undergraduate students. The program's goal is to attract brilliant students from around the globe.
The summer school is an association between a few of Europe's leading research institutes: Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI), Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CEMM), Max Perutz Labs, and the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) is generously supported by the Max Birnstiel Foundation.
Eligibility:
- The candidate must have finished at least two years of a university study (for instance 2-3 years of a Bachelor Hons study or one year of a Master's study) in Life Science and three months of research experience (Covid update, the candidate should explain the learnings gained training as part of their studies due to the pandemic)
- Good educational record
- High level of English language proficiency
- Proof of admission in a university program for the current academic year and the following year (if possible)
- MD applicants may only apply if the candidate has completed 3-4 years of studies and have the relevant research experience; they must also aim to study doctorate in a Life Science related subject after completing of the current studies
