Netherlands International Postdoc Grants: Rubicon program

Netherlands International Postdoc grants (Humanities, Life and Natural Sciences) by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO)

The Rubicon program is dedicated to promising new postdoctoral researchers/scientists who are still at the start of their scientific careers but whose scientific credentials give them the potential to become established figures in Dutch scientific research. Rubicon is part of the NWO Talent Line and is regarded as a valuable step before a possible.

The Rubicon program offers an invaluable opportunity for scientists and scholars recently completing their Ph.D. to gain valuable experience at an international knowledge institute. This program is a crucial stepping stone towards establishing a successful academic career.

Purpose and Objectives

Acquiring research experience abroad is vital in shaping an academic career. Rubicon provides talented scientists and scholars who have recently obtained their Ph.D. in the Kingdom of the Netherlands the chance to work at a foreign knowledge institute for 1-2 years. This experience significantly enhances their prospects of pursuing a long-term career in academia. Additionally, research can be conducted at a knowledge institute within the Kingdom of the Netherlands for specific fields, such as the languages and cultures of the Kingdom and local Law.

Background

The Rubicon program specifically targets promising early-stage postdoctoral researchers who possess exceptional academic qualities and have the potential to establish themselves as renowned researchers within the scientific and educational landscape of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Rubicon is an integral part of the NWO/ZonMw Talent Line.
