DUO-Sweden Fellowship Program for Indian Nationals

DUO-Sweden Fellowship Program for Indian Nationals by the ASEM framework and University Grants Commission (UGC), India.

DUO-Sweden fellowships require a PAIR (two students) of candidates to be exchanged in an academic cooperative arrangement between two countries (India and Sweden). 

Asian countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, China, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

Who can Apply: Undergraduate and Graduate students currently enrolled in a university in the host country. 

Qualifications/Eligibility criteria

Students exchange fulfills all three requirements below: 
1.    The candidate should be from India and Sweden.
2.    An educational institution in Sweden (home institution) and an educational institution in Asia (host institution) should have established an academic cooperative agreement/inter-institutional agreement. 
3.    Swedish institution has to select an EU national candidate enrolled at the home institution to send to the Asian host institution, and the Asian host institution has accepted such selection; 
4.    The same Asian host institution should select an Asian candidate enrolled at the host institution to send to the Swedish home institution, and the same Swedish home institution should accept the selection. 

Fellowship Details:

The amount of the fellowships are as follows: 
1.    For Asian students: 3,500-4,000  Euros
2.    For Swedish students: 3,500-4,000  Euros. 
3.    Duration of the fellowships: DUO-Sweden fellowships 2022/2023 are for only exchange projects that will start from August 2022 and will end before September 2023. 
4.    The selection of the DUO-Sweden 2022/2023 is made ONLY once a year. 
5.    The duration of these fellowships is limited to only one semester (or four months, whichever comes earlier).

How to Apply

1.    The institution in Sweden should apply on behalf of both institutions and people to participate in the exchange. 
2.    Asian institutions in collaboration with Sweden institutions shall cooperate fully with Swedish institutions in supplying precise information about Asian applicants. 
3.    Application Submission can be made online. The application forms for DUO-Sweden can be found on the ASEM-DUO (link given below) 
4.    Application Period is open from April 11 through May 24, 2022.

Documents Required

1.    An Online Application Form ONLY 
2.    A Copy of the Cooperation Agreement (or the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation) between selected institutions. If not, a declaration of intention to set up a new cooperation agreement, signed by the Head of the Swedish Higher Education Institution, should be presented.
3.    A copy of the passports of both the applicants 
4.    A copy of the transcript of eligible paired applicants (should include the grades until fall semester 2021)

Deadline: May 24, 2022

The decision will be announced in June 2022.
