Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation: A facilitator of Scholarships, Grants, Awards for Indian Students

The Foundation focuses on offering scholarships, grants, and awards in several fields to exceptional young Indians to facilitate them to develop their professional, scientific, artistic, and cultural abilities, both abroad and in India. More than 460 students have profited from overseas scholarships, while over 600 others have taken awards and Take-Off Grants in India and abroad.

Indoo Shivdasani founded the Inlaks Foundation in 1976 to encompass his existing philanthropic activities and provide a permanent, independent body for developing these activities. The Foundation has now been retitled the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation.

The Foundation focuses on offering scholarships, grants, and awards in several fields to exceptional young Indians to facilitate them to develop their professional, scientific, artistic, and cultural abilities, both abroad and in India. More than 460 students have profited from overseas scholarships, while over 600 others have taken awards and Take-Off Grants in India and abroad. 

The multifaceted foundation:
The Foundation finds the unusual, pursues the special, and spots people with talent. Once confident, the Foundation does everything possible to promote and nurture the candidate.
The foundation supported the conservation and biodiversity causes, which led to the creation of the Inlaks Ravi Sankaran (RS) Programme. 

Inlaks Ravi Sankaran (RS) Programme:

  • This program supports three kinds of activities: 
  • Study toward a Master’s degree in an institution in a foreign country; 
  • An internship with an institution abroad
  • Research or implementation projects within India

The foundation supported the Fine Arts and enhanced the artist residencies as part of the award to young emerging artists. The Foundation’s annual Curatorial Lab is funded by the School of Arts and Aesthetics at JNU. Internships are offered to artists, curators, dancers, and choreographers in India and overseas. The Museum professionals are supported by the ITP program conducted by the British Museum.

  3. Research And Travel Grants: Humanities and Social Sciences related subjects
  4. Ecology, Conservation & Field Biology: Inlaks Ravi Sankaran Programme; Internships And Small Grants
  5. Take Off Grants
  6. Art: Fine Art Award; Residencies in India; Residencies Overseas; AAA Artist Grant; 
  7. Khoj Peers Residency
  8. Theatre: Theatre Awards; Drama School Mumbai
  9. Music
  10. Dance: Gati Dance Forum and Attakkalari Center for Movements Arts
  11. Sports
