Online applications are invited for the Scientist positions to be filled by direct recruitment at the National Institute of Hydrology (A Gov the of India Society under Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation) at its Headquarter and Regional Centres at Guwahati, Belgavi, Patna, Kakinada, Jammu, Bhopal, and Jodhpur or any part of the country where the Institute may set up offices/ regional centers from Indian Nationals satisfying qualifications and experience as under:

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Scientist D
Educational/Academic Qualifications:
- At least 60% marks or equivalent in a Master's degree (with an undergraduate degree in Engineeringineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent) in any one of the following specializations: Civil Engineeringineering/Agricultural Engineering./Water Resources/Hydrology/irrigation/Soil & Water Conservation/Environmental Engineering/Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-informatics. OR
- Doctorate (with a PG degree in Engineering/Science with at least 60% marks or equivalent in any one of the following specializations as may be specified according to requirement: Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Earth Science/ Environmental Sciences/ Instrumentation/ Geo-Hydrology/ Hydrogeology/ Water Quality/Meteorology/ Nuclear Hydrology/Remote Sensing and GIS.
Experience:
- Experience of 6 years in Research & Development organizations and academic and industrial institutions, out of which at least two years should be as Scientist C or equivalent Level-11(Rs 67700-208700) of pay matrix or five years at Scientist B or equivalent Level-10 (Rs 56100-177500) of pay matrix.
- Publication in reputed national and international journals dealing with hydrology and water resources.
Desirable: Proven ability to develop and execute research projects.
Scientist C
Educational/Academic Qualifications:
- At least 60% marks or equivalent in Master's Degree (with Under Graduate degree in Engineeringineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent)
- Specializations: Civil Engineeringineering/Agricultural/Instrumentation Engineering/Computer Engineering/ Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Hydraulics/ Irrigation/Soil & Water Conservation/Environmental Engineering/Remote Sensing & GIS/Geo-informatics. OR Doctorate (with PG degree in Engineering/Science with at least 60% marks or equivalent) in any one of the following specializations may be specialized according to requirements: Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/Earth Science/ Environmental Sciences/ Instrumentation/ Geo-Hydrology/ Hydrogeology/ Water Quality/Meteorology/Nuclear Hydrology/ Remote Sensing and GIS.
Experience:
- Experience of 3 years in Research & Development organizations and academic and industrial institutions, out of which at least two years should be at Scientist B in Level-10 (Rs 56100-177500) in the pay matrix or equivalent.
- Publications in reputed national and international journals dealing with hydrology and water resources.
Desirable: Proven ability to develop and execute research projects.
Scientist B
Educational/Academic Qualifications:
- At least 60% marks or equivalent at the Master's Degree (with an undergraduate degree in Engineeringineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent)
- Specializations: Civil Engineeringineering/Agricultural Engineering/Electronics Engineering./ Computer Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering/Hydrology/ Hydraulics/Water Resources/Irrigation/ Soil and Water Conservation/Environmental Engineering/Remote Sensing & GIS. OR
- Doctorate (with a PG degree in Engineering/Science with at least 60% marks or equivalent)
- Specializations: Water Resources /Hydrology /Physics /Chemistry /Mathematics/ EarthScience/ EnvironmentalSciences/ Bio-sciences/ Biotechnology/ Instrumentation/ Geo-Hydrology/Hydrogeology/ Water Quality/ Meteorology/ Nuclear Hydrology/ Remote Sensing and GIS.
Desirable: Valid NET/GATE qualifications.

UGC/AICTE should duly recognize educational qualifications.
The printout of the completed online application, along with all relevant supporting documents duly self-attested and addressed to the following:
