IIT Bhilai is inviting applications from Indian nationals (Persons of Indian Origins (P.I.O.s), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)) and also Foreign Nationals to apply for the positions of Associate Professor and Professor, Assistant Professor (Grade II), and Assistant Professor (Grade-I).
Benefits
The Institute provides support to cover the following:
1. Relocation expenses and offers significant start-up research grants.
2. Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (a CPDA) of Rs. 3 lakhs for every block for three years for the expenses for participation in national and international conferences, paying the membership fee for professional bodies, and contingent payments will be awarded.
3. Matching grants for Externally Funded Projects will be awarded per the Institute's norms.
Posts, the Scale of pay (under 7th CPC), Age, Essential Qualifications, and Experience:
I. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Grade-I):
Pay Level 12. For direct recruits, the minimum basic pay is to be fixed at Rs. 1,01,500 in
Required Qualification: The potential applicant should possess a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with first-class or comparable grades at the preceding degree and a consistently good academic record.
Experience: Candidates must have three years of relevant experience (teaching/ research/industrial).
Age: Below 35 years (Preferably).
II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
Salary/Pay Level: 13A2. For direct recruitments, the minimum basic pay shall be Rs. 139600/- plus applicable allowances.
Required Qualification: The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree with a first class or equivalent scores at the previous degree in the suitable branch and an excellent academic record throughout.
Required Experience: A minimum of six years experience (teaching/industry/ research), of which three years are supposed to be in the position of Assistant Professor, Senior Scientific Officer, or Senior Design Engineer in a research organization or industry.
Age: Below 45 years (Preferably).
III. PROFESSOR:
Salary/Pay Level – 14A. The minimum basic pay level for direct recruitments will be Rs. 159100/- plus applicable allowances.
Required Qualification: The candidate must have a Ph.D. in a relevant area along with a consistently good academic record.
Required experience: a minimum of 10 years of experience (teaching/industry/ research), of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in I.I.T.s, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs.
Age: Below 55 years (Preferably).
Key Information
1. The applicants applying for the post of professor/Associate Professor should demonstrate leadership/capability and adequate experience in independent research/research
2. The selected candidates will supervise Ph.D. and master's students, sponsored research and publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory development, course development, and other recognized relevant professional activities.
3. The selected applicant shall be offered a consolidated monthly remuneration and other allowances/benefits per Institute regulations.
4. The pay carries all other allowances admissible to a Central Government employee.
5. Other benefits: HRA (if the Institute's accommodation is not provided), LTC, Research initiation grant, financial assistance towards National and International conferences, Transport Allowance, Medical reimbursement, children's education allowance, contribution towards New Pension Scheme (NPS), reimbursement of Telephone expenses.
6. Mere fulfillment of the qualifications and experience will not entitle the contestant to be called for a Seminar or interview.
